TAURUS was founded in Japan in 1995 by people who simply love living with pets.

For Tokuhiko Akatsu, innovation begins with empathy.

After joining Taurus in 2005 and later succeeding his father as President, he has dedicated his career to one guiding belief:

Every great pet product starts by understanding the pet—not the product.

Under his leadership, Taurus has expanded its commitment to preventive wellness, behavioral care, dental health, and healthy aging.

In 2021, he founded the Japan Pet Toothbrushing Association, bringing together veterinarians, trainers, educators, manufacturers, and pet care professionals to help make dental care more accessible for pet families.

Today, that same philosophy continues to guide Taurus USA.
